The Baltimore Ravens once upon a time were called the Cleveland Browns. This storied franchise brings one of the league’s toughest defences to Dolphins Stadium to face off Sunday, January 4, 2009 agains the AFC East champion Miami Dolphins.
It has been a long time since I was excited about the Miami Dolphins, a team I grew up with and whose games I have attended too many times to count. What inner pride I had in watching the Phins beat those stinking NJ JETS last week, and how happy I will be should Miami take care of the Ravens as I expect they will.
There is something very reminiscent of the 2003 World Series Champion Florida Marlins about this team. No major superstars, no massive egos, just hard work and what looks like fun. Its the feeling one gets when the universe aligns and everything is as it is supposed to be. Maybe I’m getting a little too philosophical about a simple NFL playoff game but do not be surprised if Miami moves deep in this year’s post-season shin-dig that is the NFL Playoffs.
