Gabriel Gianordoli created this elucidating info graphic which shows the top development aid donors (green) and recipients (orange). What’s interesting to me is that even if you take out blatant war-related spending for Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. still provides more than 30% more than the next highest donor (Germany).
A more telling statistic might be a GDP/capita figure – traditionally the Nordic countries give the greatest percentage of their GDP towards development and aid.
