With yesterday’s win over UVA, The U is now bowl-eligible. Huge win for the Canes. Despite a littany of penalties and attempts at self-sabotage, the Canes managed to stay close throughout the 2nd half, helped in part by missed fieldgoals by the Cavaliers.
This win may not have avenged last years 48-0 loss to the Cavaliers on a national stage during the Canes’ final Orange Bowl appearance; however, it provides some momentum to a team that has won its last 4 straight games going into its last 3 games. I was at that last game in the OB. It hurt. It hurt a lot.
Next up are the Hokies of Virginia Tech scheduled for November 13th at Dolphins Stadium and televised live to millions of households via ESPN.
I will be at that game cheering The U on to victory.
Go Canes!!!
Update:
I had an opportunity to Tivo through most of the game last night following the UM Replay on CSS network (every Tuesday @ 12 and 6 pm CST). Event knowing the outcome, I found myself getting anxious at particular moments of the game. Huge win for Miami.
PS – that was a lucky win as UVA was driving unimpeeded both at the end of regulation and during OT.
