CORAL GABLES – Ann Rubinoff persevered through a less than perfect round to capture her second Women’s Club Championship at Riviera Country Club located in tropical Coral Gables, FL.

Family, friends, and supporters cheered Ms. Rubinoff as she approached the 18th green with the confidence only reserved for repeat champions. As the gallery swelled with applause for the Rochester, NY. native, Ms. Rubinoff tipped her visor in what was seen by many as a signal of her deep admiration for her adoring fans.

This win was especially significant for Ms. Rubinoff, having had to miss the 2008 tournament due to an important social event. “Vindication,” an exasperated Rubinoff replied in reponse to this writers inquiry as to what this year meant to her. “When you’ve been gone for a year, you really never know if its still in you. Well I found out today on that course… I showed this friggen club what Ann Rubinoff is made of, and she’s engineered from high tensile determination, stress-tested tenacity, and a large helping of never quit.”

Next up for Rubinoff will be the Cullusaja Club Championships as the LCCGA (Ladies Country Club Golf Association) moves to the Appalachian Mountains for its summer tour.
